The Flash is almost at a memorable milestone as issue #200
is just around the corner. This issue is a classic set up story
in what is bound to be a great arc which celebrates the big two
hundred and brings a lot of change along the way.
Hunter Zoloman, Keystone City police metahuman
profiler and one of the Flash's close friends. We take a trip back
into his past and find out just what made him into the man he is
today.
Geoff Johns [Teen Titans, Avengers]
has always written his best Flash stories when writing about the
origins and or histories of the major villains in the series. In
this issue the focus is again on a singular character and Johns
excels in writing an informative, believable and thoroughly enjoyable
storyline about Zoloman’s past.
Scott Kolins [Avengers] rejoins
Johns after having a break from his art chores in the previous issue.
His work is top notch once again but it’s the work of colourist
James Sinclair and Kolin’s interesting use of panels and their
design that makes the art shine. Sinclair uses some awesome
yellow duotones to tell the past story which gives the
piece a classic feel. Kolins adds to the original art by using snapshot
style elongated panelling with a great rounded edge design.
A solid story with some nice information about
an important Flash character, coupled with some great looking
art, leaves us with a well rounded and thoroughly enjoyable
issue. Score
8/10
