Coming Soon - June 2003 Edition
----------------------------------------
Since southside is based in sweet ol’ South Africa a lot of this news might pertain to strange currency, local comic availability and shops that don’t exist in other parts of the world and other such nonsense. Also due to my lack of time to update each and every day, half of this stuff is probably not news to you, but at the time, it was to me, and so here it is… my monthly ramble of stuff I found interesting in the last month or so of comics news and previews.

1602
---------------------------
Marvel Comics

The mystery series by Neil Gaiman and Andy Kubert. With a creative team like this you can't really go wrong ordering this, unless of course Bill Jemas helped co-write :p

Tokyopop
August 2003 [USA]

The latest anime explosion comes to us in manga format from the legendary Tokyopop team. This manga is sure to be a big seller as it incorporates an online RPG and the real world all mixed up in the way that only the Japanese could think up.

SOULFIRE # 1
-----------------------
Aspen MLT Inc.
August 2003 [USA]

This may or may not happen as Mike Turner is now in a sticky lawsuit with Topcow over rights for this and the other prospective Aspen titles. Apparentley some issues have shipped, so if you are lucky enough to get one hold onto it, it could be worth some money pretty soon.

GREEN ARROW: THE SOUNDS OF VIOLENCE
-----------------------
DC Comics
June 2003 [USA]

The next 4 issues of Kevin Smiths run on Green Arrow. A must have for all you Smith fans who want to complete his run on the emerald archer.

SPIDER-MAN & WOLVERINE #1
-------------------------
Marvel Comics
June 2003 [USA]

A somewhat stupid sounding teamup. The art looks pretty awful to me and the story pretty stupid, but with both characters being so strong on their own, one has to mention this title, looks like a flop though :{

SUPREME POWER #1
----------------------------
Marvel Comics
2003 [USA]

Chronicling the birth of the first generation of new superheros, this Marvel MAX series looks set to do pretty well as an alternative to the normal Marvel fare.

TRINITY #1
-------------------------
DC Comics
June 2003 [USA]

This series will tell the story of how Batman and Supes first met Wonder Woman. Looks interesting enough, this 3-part series starts of with the trio battling the Superman clone, Bizzaro.

The growing legend of Ultimate Spider-Man just got bigger and deadlier. Venom takes on Spidey in the latest blockbuster from Bendis and sure to be a classic for all Spider-Man fans.
