Coming Soon - July 2003 Edition
----------------------------------------
Since southside is based in sweet ol’ South Africa a lot of this news might pertain to strange currency, local comic availability and shops that don’t exist in other parts of the world and other such nonsense. Also due to my lack of time to update each and every day, half of this stuff is probably not news to you, but at the time, it was to me, and so here it is… my monthly ramble of stuff I found interesting in the last month or so of comics news and previews.

Tokyopop
July/August 2003 [USA]

Finally the proposition of the Hip Hop culture mixing it up with manga comes to our shores. Theres been stuff available like this overseas for quite a while but never in english, lets hope they pull this one off and it leads to future 'ghetto culture' titles.

This looks beautiful from the preview art that I've seen. Full colour action orientated stuff all wrapped up in a Hardcover edition, the Dark Knight is drawn to Hong Kong to solve a series of viscous murders.

The 50th issue of the spellbinding series thats got everyone talking. With a list of guest artists longer than my arm this issue is bound to rock the house under the guidance of the great Brian Michael Bendis.

FRAY 8 [of 8]

Dark Horse Comics
August 2003 [USA]

A lot of people have been waiting far to long for Joss "Buffy" Whedon to complete this mini-series. Well here it is, the final book of the 8 issue series is coming this month and with the trade on the way soon after this looks like a good few months for fans.

OXIDO 1
-------------------------
Image Comics
September 2003 [USA]

A great sounding sci-fi story about a bunch of space marshalls being forced to depend on the bad guy to save their skins and get them home in one piece. With nice looking art and an action packed sounding story this looks like a fun book.
